    When do I have to start cleaning up my eating?
    Many of us are already eating Paleo and have started paying attention to our portion sizes, we will officially start the challenge on October 24th and it will end 6 weeks later, on Sunday, December 10th with a benchmark WOD and Paleo brunch.

    What do I win?
    This go around the male and female winner will get 2 MONTHS OF UNLIMITED MEMBERSHIP at CrossFit Queens!  Second and third place winners will get prizes as well!  Consolation prizes: look better naked; perform better during WOD’s; reduce risk of disease. I know there was a delay in prize giving of the Summer Paleo challenge. But believe me those who won saw the prize in their improved health and fitness and physique.

    How do I get started?

    • Sign up here. Entry fee 20$.
    • Attend nutritional talk before the challenge. Two dates: Friday, October 21 at 9pm (after the last class) Sunday, October 23 at 9am (before the 10am class) If you cannot make either day email lobo21nyy@gmail.com
    • Start logging.  You will need to log your food and hours of sleep daily. After you sign up, we will email you a log to fill out. We will review your food logs WEEKLY and suggest adjustments. If you fail to fill out your log, you will not win.
    • Find out where you are at now.
      • Take 3 “before” pictures (front view, side view and back view in either a sports bra (females) or shirtless (males) to lobo21nyy@gmail.com.  All pictures will remain private unless we are given consent to publish.
      • Get measured at the nutrition talk. We need waist measurements, estimated body fat %, and weight.
    • Hit a benchmark WOD. You can complete your benchmark WOD on Monday, October 24th or during open gym hours.
    • What do I eat?
    • If you have never tried eating Paleo, start by eating protein (preferably meat) with every meal. Balance your meals, so each meal has protein, fat and carbohydrates. Begin to eliminate sugar and grains from your diet.
    • If you eat a Paleo-ish diet and you have no problem not eating grains or sugar then lets try to cut out dairy, legumes and alcohol.
    • If you have been Paleo for a while, start measuring your portions and aim towards achieving a Zone balance.

    The winner will be determined EQUALLY by most increased performance (%) on the benchmark workout, largest decrease in weight, waist size and body fat %, AND most improved looks! CrossFit Queens coaches will choose pictures of a few athletes with the most improved looks. At the final Paleo brunch, challenge participants will rank pictures of these athletes.
