    Next Level Strength

Want to take your strength to the next level?  Improve your CrossFit Total, Oly lifts or hit more WOD’s as RX?  This is the answer.  Introducing our brand new “Next Level” Strength Class.

“Next Level Strength” offers two programs to help you in the two major branches of competitive weight-lifting: Power Lifting and Olympic Lifting.  Each program is a four week program that is designed to get you lifting heavier weights, with good form, more often.

     ____________________________

The Power Lifting cycle consists of 4 core movements of Back Squat, Bench Press, Strict Press and Deadlift.  Concentrating on these four movements for four weeks will build your raw strength.  Numerous accessory movements are included in order to work mobility and target strength of more specific muscles.

Just some of the results from the Power Lifting cycle:

Coleen improved her Deadlift PR by 75# and both her Bench and Squat by15#.

Lindsay got consecutive Ring Dips and improved both her Bench and Squat by 20#.

Dimitri improved his both his Squat and Bench by 35# and Deadlift by 30#.

Dana started out 2011 with a 80# press.  He is now press 115# for reps.

    ____________________________

The Olympic Lifting cycle concentrates on the Snatch and Clean & Jerk.  With accessory movements such as Overhead Squats , Front Squats and Snatch Balances, the cycles gets you deep in the Olympic lifting squat positions, emphasizing full range of motion and flexibility as well has speed and strength.  The cycle gets you more comfortable with these technical movements and more efficient.

Just some of the results from the Olympic Lifting cycle:

Terita, Lindsay, Jess, Mamie and Claudette all got their 1RM Clean and Jerk to over 100#

Erin got a 143# Clean & Jerk and is currently the only female at the gym with over a 100# Snatch!  She is also chasing down some of the males at the gym with a 185# front squat!

Todd saw a huge improvement with Clean & Jerk with a 80# PR.  This improvement was less to do with getting stronger and more to do with improved technique and efficiency of the movement.

Lon, too, saw improvement through technique.  His Clean & Jerk went up 50# and his Snatch went up 15#.

    ____________________________

Not only will the Next Level Strength program get you stronger, but it will help you go faster and heavier with your MetCons as well as more comfortable with your actual abilities.  Stop guessing at the weights that you can lift and know exactly what you can lift.  Stop grabbing the smaller kettlebell and start grabbing the heavier on.  Hit more WODs as RXed!  Get more out of your workout by going heavier and faster!
