      Rough start to cleaning eating last week, so I haven’t posted my poor intake. Off to a fresh start today!

      Hmm, what DO they say about couples that crossfit together?

    6. I need a new pair of sneakers…where is the best place to buy a pair…I’ll use them for running (when a WOD demands running) and for CF since our new space is all concrete.

      • Linds-
        If your totally gonna go for it, go to Jack Rabbit or Super Runners Shop. They’ll have you run on a treadmill, see how your foot stikes then recommend a shoe best suited for you.
        p.s. I think they are gonna put mats or something down but new shoes are sweet!!

        • I’d try to get a recommendation for someone at one of those stores though. I decided to start running last year so I went to jack rabbit near Union Sq., it took me 4 sales people and 5 pairs of shoes to get it right, and it still wasn’t great. Granted, my feet are a mess, but the first 3 people that helped me were completely incompetent.

        You can run and lift in these…and for me that is awesome!

        I ran the tough mudder in these and wear them at most CF events (when im not sportin my sparkly chucks ;)

        if you are used to traditional cushioned running shoes then start off with small distances

    7. oh i just remembered!!! Scratch JR and SRS.. Urban Athletics!!!–i’ve talked to them about shoes and feet and they’ve been very helpful.. they know what they’re doing fo sho!

    8. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one struggling in the clean eating challenge! Had a kids b-day bbq yesterday + sleepover. You can imagine my surprise when there was nothing to eat but burgers, dogs & pizza for the last 24 hrs. Here’s how I fared…
      8/28
      B- 1 egg/1 white w/ 2% cheese, 2 turkey sausage, plum, a few almonds
      L- 1 slice pizza
      D- 1 1/2 burgers w/ ketchup, no bun. cucumbers, carrots, broccoli
      Late night snacks- 2 glasses sangria and then…1/2 slice pizza, cookie, couple bites of coffee cake, bowl of strawberries, tea w/ m&s YIKES! It was the booze!

      B- tea m&s, 2 chorizo & egg burritos on flour tortillas (no booze involved in that decision)
      L- Chicken stir fry w/lots of veggies
      It is so hard to eat away from home!!!

      • That was actually 29th and 30th, yesterday and today.
        D- pork chop & sauteed spinach w/garlic, olive oil & lemon.
        Snacks- banana, 2 squares dark chocolate, tea w/ m&s
        WOD- 7 rounds, 26:19 (modified h.s. push-ups, red band on dips, knee push-ups)

    9. Scaled HSPU on the mat and used bands (red sometimes, blue sometimes depending on what was available) for dips on the bars.

      Completed 7 rounds in 34:16.

      I definitely need to get to more running WODs. I feel so sluggish!

    10. Since in my whole crossfit history I’ve only done one wod that involved running (last week), I decided to scale this to 5 rounds….then got bored after resting and did a 6th. I think it was just over 30 minutes including the rest?

      Today I also got 2 unassisted dips on the bars!

      B: omelette with spinach and mushrooms
      L: I really wanted a giant burrito but instead had half a cobb salad, which was disappointing, then had some nuts.
      pre-wod: larabar
      D: sashimi

      • What Lara Bar flavor do you get? I can’t find one I like yet…

        • My favorites are pecan pie, peanut butter cookie, apple pie, and coconut cream pie. But tonight I found a new one…chocolate chip cookie dough at key food. AMAZING. It’s not reallllly paleo but I needed something fast before the wod and it was worth it.

        • Ok, thanks for the recommendations. I’ve had the peanut butter cookie and the peanut butter and jelly. Wasn’t really a fan of either. My coworker loves the lemon ones, but I just can’t see that being good :) I’ll have to try the others on your list. Thanks!

    11. 7 Rounds in 23:42…used ab mats during the hand stand push ups

    12. Sorry for the lonely WOD this morning, M&M…had a long needed 12 hour sleep session…
      Did the WOD in 27:03, struggled with the handstand pushups- I knew I could do them but I’d never done them in a WOD before. Even though it was a small amount each time, the volume got to me. About the 4th round I started using 1 ab mat. Something to work on.
      Little disappointed- think 3 weeks of vaca caught up with me…and the bellerose crew (thanks Mikey) ;)

    15. Scaled HSPU with 2 ab mats and used the blue band for dips on the bars. Finished only 6 rounds in about 32 minutes. :( First WOD after being on vacation for 3 weeks, but it was good to be back tonight! :)

    16. Rest Day
      Breakfast: 3 egg whites with quac. 1/2 banana and black coffee
      Lunch: mixed greens, asparagus and turkey
      Snacks: mixed nuts, apple.
      Then I went completly off the rails. Birthday party, Italian style-that kind of says it all.

    17. Did HSPU with 1 abmat (and it wasn’t too hard, actually – I think I’m ready to try unassisted sometime soon), but had to use the purple band for ring dips after the 1st round.

      7 rounds, 28:56

    18. 7 rounds 30:48 (aimed for 5 rounds and made it through 7!) scaled HSPU, and I alternated on the pushups (some knees…it’s been a month) and the red band for dips.

      B: egg whites, spinach, mushroom bacon, coffee with h&h
      S: apple
      L: two eggs with tomato/basil salad
      pre-wod: almond milk, pb, banana smoothie
      dinner: sweet pot. pancakes (coconut flour as a subs.)–one potatoe makes 16 pancakes –i had three w/ dinner, shrimp, tomato salad, tbsp guac

    19. 7 rounds at 28:2ish
      Keeping the paleo eating…

    20. Rest Day
      B: Banana, 2 hard boiled eggs but egg white only
      Lunch: Mesclun salad with chicken, avocado, cucumber, carrot, mushroom and broccoli
      D: Steak with grape tomatoes
      Slice of cake. I so regretted this later. I think I didn’t snack enough during the day.

    21. B: Protein Shake
      S: Zone Bar
      L: 1/2 tuna salad sandwich with cucumbers
      S: the other half of my sandwich
      D: Zone Bar

    22. B- fruit
      L- salad with avocado
      S- “several” pistachios, grape fruit
      D- Salmon and sauteed spinach

    23. Just a little stretching today, no workout…
      B- banana, hard boiled eggs, coffe
      L- Spinach salad w/ gr. chicken, avocado, egg, corn, tomatoes, bacon, balsamic vineagrette
      D- Rib eye steak, tomatoes
      S- small piece of colombian cake, we gotta get this thing out of my fridge!!!

    24. Whew. Made up this wod. Nasty, but awesome! As rx’d Did 400m runs. 25:20. Ugh. Its tough coming back.
