    1. WOD: 7:21 at men’s prescribed weight – until the Pullups…

Check the “Short Form”, might help with your tight shoulder.
Also, thanks for calling me out for sandbagging with the Black Band.

@ B & P: EA Games take Adult Play to a whole new level, something to think about for the First Annual CFQ Picnic and Games…

    2. WOD

      Blech.

I am completely lost on how to make pullups doable for me. It is really discouraging because I don’t seem to be getting any power in my upper body. On the other hand, my lower body can generate a lot of strength. I would love any insights on how I can balance the two halves of my body:)

      • After decades of running and cycling, I have the same problem. Keep in mind that the upper body muscles are much smaller than the lower body :. gains are proportionately smaller. I think part of it is to get out of our comfort zones and work the things that are hard to do.

    3. WOD 10’26” Thrusters were the most difficult part by far.

    4. Kicked it old school and hit the pool! It’s been almost a year since my last swim, not counting the ocean.
I was only allowed to swim for one hour but it was plenty. I believe this is a 20 yard pool but no one who works there seems to know the actual length. 88 Laps is one mile and it took me 35 minutes. I then did a bunch of kick drills and deep water running. I’m not sure I was doing it right but I’m sore so I guess it worked.

    5. I don’t have access to a pull up bar thesse days. So added some weight instead of doing pull ups. It took me more than 11 minutes to get through the Thrusters. Chupa! – That was hard!

      ##Food-Log:
      breakfast: 4 egg omelette
      lunch: 2 stuffed pepper bells
dinner: No dinner. Todays WOD destroyed my appetite.

    6. Saysha…yes pullups can be frustrating. For a women upper body strength gains are challenging. I would hit pullups from all angles. I would do jumping pullups one day, another day do negative hangs taking at lest 5 seconds on the way down, another day do the band. Don’t give up! You can do it. I took me almost a year to get my first pullup strict but since then it is still tough but I can do them.

    7. Also once we get your kip going this will get you lots and lots of pullups. Lets work on your kip soon!

    8. Great work today everyone. This was a tough one. No sand bagging allowed in our gym Andy!

    10. 6:36 Thanks Erin for your counting and encouragement. You really hung in tough on the thrusters even though your shoulder was hurting – inspiring perfomance! How did it feel after the workout?

      • No, thank you! You really helped me push through and finish. Shoulders felt okay the rest of the day yesterday and so far today, though they’re a bit tight.

        WOD Time – 12:53 (35# SDHP, 45# Thrusters, Green Band Pull-ups)

    11. Mike , do you remember my time? Strung sets of two pullups after that singles. Need more grip
Work so I can string more together. Thanks Mike for pushing us.
